Bacteriostatic Water is a sterile aqueous solution formulated for laboratory research applications where a consistent, sterile diluent is required for the preparation and handling of research compounds. It consists primarily of highly purified water with a controlled amount of a bacteriostatic preservative — typically benzyl alcohol (0.9%) — which inhibits the growth and reproduction of bacteria in the solution, supporting multi-withdrawal use in controlled workflows.

In research environments, bacteriostatic water is widely used as a solvent for reconstituting lyophilized peptides, proteins, and other biochemical compounds prior to laboratory experimentation, as well as for dilution and preparation of solutions that require sterile handling. Store protected from light and moisture under cold conditions. Short-term storage at −20 °C is suitable for routine laboratory use.
